
Josina Manu Maltzman (all pronouns) is a writer, carpenter, and community organizer working for liberation in Palestine since 2000. Jo’s writings include “Ride Safe,” an essay exploring the individual’s role in contributing to community safety, and “Protective Presence in the West Bank,” which was awarded the 2025 Plentitudes Prize in Nonfiction. Josina is a core member of Relationships Evolving Possibilities (REP), a community safety project in the Twin Cities. They will also be leading a student-centered writing workshop on personal & community safety earlier in the day at WSU on October 28. Teo Shannon (he/him) is a queer, chronically ill, Latino poet living in Winona, MN. He holds an MFA from Pacific University of Oregon and a PhD from University of Nebraska–Lincoln. He is a cofounder and co-EIC of Cotton Xenomorph, a journal of flash fiction, poetry, and visual art.
