2025-2026 Fellow

Bee Kakac is an anti-imperialist drone pilot, water protector, and Land Back accomplice. She grew up in Sabin, Minnesota, and has been fortunate to live a relatively unique life.

After hitchhiking around Turtle Island for two years and experiencing all that that brings, Bee started college at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College and finished her degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Minnesota State University in Moorhead. From there, Bee worked some extremely disheartening jobs in her field and chose to move out of her house and to a resistance camp to help fight the Line 3 pipeline.

During that time, Bee learned to fly drones, documenting both the beauty and the destruction of the land. Her goal with her drone work is to help people connect with issues affecting the land and Native Sovereignty.
